The Flyers recalled minor-league defenseman Danny Syvret today from the Phantoms under what are being described as “emergency conditions,” according to GM Paul Holmgren
Syvret, 23, is eligible to play in tonight’s home game against the Florida Panthers.
In two games for the Flyers this season, Syvret has yet to record a point. With the Phantoms, he has 11 goals and 37 assists in 66 games, which places him second in the AHL in scoring by defensemen.
Only ten regular season games remain for the Flyers, who are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. They will likely face Pittsburgh or Carolina in the first round of the playoffs.
