The Super Bowl Champ Eagles Are Already Underdogs Again

The Super Bowl champion Eagles (that sounds pretty good, doesn't it?) have a young franchise QB and his Super Bowl MVP backup, a plethora of offensive weapons, a fierce defense built for years to come and a fearless head coach with the cojones to try the improbable.

And the Birds are still not the favorites to lift the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta next season.

Really.

And the team they conquered last night, the Patriots, are the favorite to do just that.

Really.

According to Bovada, the Pats check in as the 5/1 favorites for next season. The Eagles, on the other hand, come in at second with 9/1 odds. And they're not even alone in second. The Packers also check in with 9/1 odds.

The Vikings and Steelers, both with 12/1 odds, round out the Top 5.

To put things in perspective, the Eagles started this past season with 50/1 odds, the same as the Giants, Cardinals, Redskins and Titans have right now for next season.

Hey, the underdog thing has worked out pretty well so far. Why stop now?
