Remember when the Philadelphia Eagles had never won a Super Bowl? Those were dark days, no doubt.
New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Redskins fans used to love to show Philly fans an image of an empty trophy case and rub it in our faces.
One New York fan who apparently goes by "License Plate Guy" even spent actual American dollars to make a custom Eagles jersey with "SUPERBOWLS" on the name plate and "0" as the number.
Because the Eagles had won zero Super Bowls. Clever.
Fast Forward to February 4, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota where Tom Brady dropped a pass and Nick Foles caught a touchdown and the Philadelphia Eagles hoisted the Lombardi Trophy and brought it home to parade down Broad Street.
Now that custom jersey was outdated and even tackier. It probably deserved to be thrown in the trash.

But one intrepid Eagles fan who goes by the name The Mighty EROCK and hosts the popular 4th and Jawn podcast thought that ugly jersey could be used for a good cause. They set up a GoFundMe to raise money for childhood cancer research and topped the $10,000 goal with a little final push from the Eagles organization.
They burned the jersey this evening at a tailgate outside of Lincoln Financial Field in a fun little ceremony. Because Eagles fans are very understated.
You can watch the video above. They even brought in some (fake) firefighter to make sure everybody was safe.
"That jersey is a symbol of years of torment suffered by Eagles fans," EROCK told us before the jersey was torched. "For years we were the butt of the joke for the other teams in the NFC East. And now just like saying 'how many rings you got?,' that jersey will be no more."
I think it's pretty safe to say it's lit at the Linc this evening.
