Former Eagles longsnapper and Philadelphia fan favorite Jon Dorenbos shared an emotional post to his Instagram account on Thursday night roughly one month after he underwent heart surgery.
It was his trade from the Eagles to the New Orleans Saints that helped their team physician, Dr. John Amoss, discover that Dorenbos has an aortic aneurysm.
The Magic Man appears to be doing well and shared the heartfelt message thanking his wife who has been by his side, the nurses who took care of him, and his doctor who performed the surgery:
One month ago today I underwent emergency open heart surgery. My wife never left my side. She held my hand every step of the way. Life is crazy. One min I was a professional athlete, the next min I was fighting for my life. The video in this collage shows how the simplest things in life we sometimes take for granted. The video in the post shows Dorenbos taking a shower for what appears like the first time since surgery. He's clearly emotional about simply being alive but still has his wonderful sense of humor.
