The Eagles signed wide receiver Greg Ward back onto the practice squad after he cleared waivers.
With DeSean Jackson (abdominal) and Alshon Jeffery (calf) out for the Lions game, the Eagles signed Ward off the practice squad last week, and in his first NFL game he got two snaps on offense - he wasn't targeted - and 13 snaps on special teams.
With Jeffery back at practice this past week and Ronald Darby now out indefinitely, the Eagles released Ward to make room on the 53-man roster for cornerback Craig James, who had been on the practice squad the past week.
James, a second-year pro out of Southern Illinois, began the season on the practice squad, was signed to the active roster for the Falcons game and played one snap on defense and 11 on special teams, then was released and re-signed to the practice squad for Lions week.
The 24-year-old Ward, a former starting quarterback at Houston, was initially released with final cuts after an excellent preseason, his third training camp with the Eagles.
