Eagles Inactives: Eagles Are Light on WRs and RBs

Jordan Howard is officially inactive for Sunday's game, but just a couple days after re-joining the Eagles, Jay Ajayi is active.

We'll see what kind of role the Eagles have for Ajayi with such little time to get him prepared. It's more likely Miles Sanders and Boston Scott carry the load against the Patriots.

Howard (shoulder) has a stinger from the Bears game and still hasn't been cleared for contact, so he can't play. Darren Sproles also went on IR this week, so Sanders is the only running back still healthy from the opening-day roster.

Meanwhile, Alshon Jeffery (ankle) was ruled out Friday, so expect JJ Arcega-Whiteside to have a bigger role today.

Here are the Eagles' inactives:

The Eagles have just three running backs and four receivers today. One of those receivers in Jordan Matthews, who signed earlier in the week. So expect to see a lot of 12 personnel with Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert.

Sidney Jones is active for this game after being a healthy scratch last week.

Undrafted offensive lineman Herbig has been inactive all year.
