Safety Rashad Baker, a Camden native, is the newest member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 27-year-old signed a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.
Baker played last season with the Oakland Raiders where he recorded 24 tackles and three interceptions. He has also played with Buffalo, Minnesota and New England since entering the NFL in 2004.
Baker has deep area roots. He starred as a football player and track star at Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, N.J.
It's unlikely that Baker is the answer to replace Brian Dawkins but the Birds have to like his ability to pick off passes.
NBC Philadelphia will have more details as they emerge.
