Eagles Will Beat Brady, Pats: NBC10 ‘Experts'

The Eagles gave fans hope by beating the Giants last Sunday but the win marked the second-straight week where our NBC10 "Experts" failed to pick the result of the Birds game accurately.

Will this week be different as the Vince Young-led Birds host Tom Brady's Patriots?

This week, despite the 4-6 Eagles being home underdogs to the 7-3 Pats, 71-percent of our “Experts” are picking the home team.

“Don’t Stop Believing,” says news desk guy Franco. “Eagles will beat the Patriots by a field goal 24 to 21 as LeSean McCoy runs for over 150 yards and two scores as the Eagles try to battle back from more V-Young turnovers.

“(Pats TE) Rob Gronkowski is a nightmare for the Birds D as he catches all three Brady TDs. But pressure from Jason Babin and Cullen Jenkins will pressure Brady enough to make the Eagles squeak by and surprise everyone. “

The fact that no one expects the Eagles to win also played a role in social media guy Lou going with the Birds.

“Just like last week in New York, they shouldn’t win. But I think somehow they will. Maybe it’s the Thanksgiving dinner, but Andy Reid is the fourth-best coach ever in the final month of the season (behind only Lombardi, Madden and Walsh). He finds ways to win late in the year, and this is another must-win for his team.”

Reporter Tim Furlong also thinks the Eagles history of late-season success will once again come to light.

“Brady is finding his groove and the Pats are looking a little bit sharper than they did in the first half of the season. But I'm taking the Eagles this week. I think the D finally remembers what it's like to lay a good hit and they want to seize the momentum coming off the win over the Giants. Plus, Andy Reid is a good late November coach -- Eagles win 24-17.”

But not everyone is drinking the Kool-Aid.

“The last time I thought the Eagles were on the verge of potentially saving their season (after the big Cowboys win), they promptly went into the tank,” said Birds Nest blogger Drew Magary. “Fool me once, shame on you. For me twice, I let off stink bombs in Juan Castillo's house. PATRIOTS 41, EAGLES 21.”

Ouch!

Fellow Birds Nest blogger Brian Solomon also doesn’t trust the Birds to make it two in a row.

“Tom Brady against Juan Castillo's defense is unfair,” he said. Brian has the Birds winning 28-24.

As for this blogger, I just seem to think that the Eagles will win this game. The Patriots put up a first-half clunker last week and really only cruised to a victory thanks to three interceptions from (one-and-done?) Kansas City starter Tyler Palko and some terrible Chiefs special teams play.

What do you fans out there think?

I just don’t think the Pats are as good as they have been in the past. I see plenty of points as Brady puts up 325-ish yards but Young matches the effort in a 35-31 Eagles win.
