Vick's Staying Home for Eagles Next Game

Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick won't be on the field with his new team for their next preseason game -- he likely won't even be in the same state.

Vick won't fly with his new teammates when they travel to take on the Indianapolis Colts Thursday night.

The announcement wasn't all that surprising considering that Vick isn't eligible to play in game anyway. But, he was allowed to travel with the Birds, according to his conditional reinstatement.

Head Coach Andy Reid doesn't usually bring players who won't play, an Eagles spokesman told the AP Tuesday.

Other prominent injured Eagles not making the trip include running back Brian Westbrook, offensive linemen Shawn Andrews and Jason Peters, and cornerback Sheldon Brown.

Vick was practicing with the Eagles since joining the team late last week.

He can play in the last two preseason games. So it's possible that he will be on the field for the Eagles next Thursday when they take on the Jaguars at the Linc.
