The Eagles entered Sunday Night Football against the Giants leading the NFL in turnovers. They left the Linc leading the NFC East with a 3-1 record thanks to a turnover-free 19-17 win.
Of course, two missed field goals by Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes in the waning moments of the fourth quarter also helped.
Tynes missed a 54-yard attempt wide left but was saved thanks to Andy Reid using a remaining timeout (a rarity in some games) to “ice” Tynes.
"When you're surrounded by 66,000 people that probably wanna rip your head off, yeah," Reid said about if he regretted the stoppage.
Reid’s decision was even second-guessed by his quarterback.
"I don't believe in icing the kicker, " Michael Vick said. "Let him step up there and do what he does."
Given the reprieve, Tynes kicked one dead center on his second attempt but didn’t put enough leg behind it as the ball fell just short of the crossbar.

Game over, Eagles win and Reid gets off the hook.
Eagles kicker Alex Henery stepped up his game Sunday hitting four field goals, including the 26-yard game-winner with 1:49 left, on four attempts. But Henery was unable to keep kickoffs away from Giants returner David Wilson who averaged 36.2 yards on six returns including 37 yards to give the Giants a short field on their final drive.
Despite losing the field position battle the Eagles won the time of possession battle 33:21 to 26:39 in part thanks to a hefty dose of LeSean McCoy runs in the second half. Shady broke out of his two-week funk for his second 100-yard game of the season, finishing with 123 yards on 23 carries and added three grabs for another 17 yards.
DeSean Jackson emerged once again as Michael Vick’s favorite target as D-Jax hauled in six balls for 99 yards, including a 19-yard TD in the first half.
Vick took care of the ball, picking his spots for big plays, as he finished the game with a 99.4 passer rating while completing 19 of 30 passes for 241 yards and a score. Vick also used his legs more than he had in the Eagles first three games as he ran six times for 49 yards.
Eli Manning led the Giants with 309 yards passing on 24-of-42 passing with two TDs and a critical Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie interception with the Giants in the red zone in the second half.
Speaking of the red zone, the Eagles have plenty of work to do in that aspect of the game. They managed only the one touchdown in four trips inside their own 20. They will need to improve on that number if they hope to keep up with the high-scoring Steelers next week.
Maybe the real secret weapon for the Eagles Sunday was the guy in the No. 20 jersey who ran out of the tunnel with them pregame and had his jersey retired earlier in the day. Brian Dawkins put the crowd, and team, into a frenzy during pregame introductions featuring his Weapon-X entrance and then led the crowd in a rendition of “Fly! Eagles Fly!” during a halftime celebration in his honor.
