Eagles Bid Farewell to Former PSU Running Back

The Eagles have disappointed some Nittany Lion faithful by releasing fullback Tony Hunt, according to the Eagles.

Hunt was the only former Penn Stater on the Eagles roster.

Hunt, a star running back while at Penn State, was a third round pick of Philadelphia in the 2007 NFL Draft.

He appeared in 8 games his rookie season before finding playing time in all six Birds games in 2008.

Hunt struggled to find carries for the Birds, only gaining 9 yards on four rushing attempts -- he did score one touchdown.

The release of Hunt freed up a roster spot for former Green Bay Packers linebacker Tracy White.

White has played 69 career NFL games in three seasons. He is known for his special teams abilities where he has recorded 68 career kick coverage tackles.
