Union Sign 2016 Second-round Draft Pick Taylor Washington

The Union went 4 for 4 at the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.

On Friday, the club officially announced the signing of left back and 2016 second-round selection, Taylor Washington. The 22-year-old joins 2016 first-round picks, Josh Yaro, Keegan Rosenberry and Fabian Herbers, who have already inked deals.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"It was evident from Day 1 that Taylor entered preseason camp with a focused mentality and committed work ethic in hopes of making our roster," Union sporting director Earnie Stewart said. "He's earned his place on the team and he exemplifies the type of professionalism we want at our club. He has a bright future and the ability to immediately contribute at such an important position."

Washington, a New York native who started 52 games over three seasons at George Mason University, was the third pick in the second round of the latest draft. He will begin the 2016 season acting as left back depth behind Fabinho and likely Ray Gaddis, while learning the professional game.
