Union Release Full '16 Schedule; Home Opener March 20 Vs. NE

With Union headlines littered with haunts of the past, Thursday was an opportunity to look toward the future. More specifically, the 2016 season schedule.

The Union open the season with two tough games on the road, when they travel to FC Dallas on March 6 and Columbus Crew on March 12, with the Talen Energy opener on March 20 against the New England Revolution.

The Union play only three nationally televised games in 2016. The first is April 8 against Orlando City, followed by a May 20 meeting versus D.C. United - both on UniMas at Talen Energy. On FS1, the Union travel to the New York Red Bulls on July 17.

The Union have no matches on any of the ESPN networks.

Of notable home games, the Union host the Los Angeles Galaxy on May 11, Real Salt Lake on July 31, Toronto FC on August 20 and home against the Red Bulls to finish the season on Oct. 23. The Union will hit the road against the Seattle Sounders on April 16, and face the MLS Cup champion Portland Timbers on Sept. 17.

In season series action, the Union host the Red Bulls, Orlando City and United twice, but visit the Montreal Impact, Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire twice. From May 11 to June 1, the Union will play six games in 22 days and will play five Wednesday matches during the season.
