Major League Soccer announced on Tuesday new security standards that will apply to every MLS club. In an effort to ensure fan safety, a standard bag policy and guest screening will be in place immediately. The new security measures are similar to policies in other major sports leagues.
The Union will implement the new rules on Saturday when they host New York City F.C. All fans will be screened before entering the stadium. Bags will also be checked upon entry. To minimize wait times, Talen Energy Stadium will open 90 minutes before kickoff.
