You'll Want to Watch This Sick Tranquillo Barnetta Goal Over and Over Again

In case you missed it, the Union won last night to move into first place in the Eastern Conference. And they did so thanks to one of the best goals in franchise history.

In the 90th minute of a tied game vs. Orlando City SC, Tranquillo Barnetta lined up for a free kick from about 25 yards out and perfectly bent it into the corner of the net, actually banking it in off the bottom off the crossbar. (A reporter asked the Swiss midfielder afterwards if he "called bank," but we're not entirely sure if he knew what that meant).

As far as storylines go, this one had it all. Barnetta was playing in just his second game after an early-season knee injury kept him out. The suddenly rejuvenated Union won on the very thing that had doomed them for much of the franchise's existence (a late winner). And the team seemed to at least partially confuse the Orlando defense and goalie Joe Bendik with an interesting free-kick setup, explained by CSN Union writer Ryan Bright.

Forget all that, though. This is a goal you'd rather watch than read about. So here it is, in several different angles.

The best one:

From the side:

From the stands:

And for all those Union fans (and reporters) who have been watching this team for a while, you likely immediately thought of a similar late-free kick winner from Klesberson three years ago -- on the same side of the field and also against Bendik. Here they are, side by side:

Oh, and to top it all off, the absurdly talented Andre Blake preserved the win by making a save that was as good as Barnetta's goal.

Doop.
