The NBA Board of Governors approved a pilot program that will put advertising on jerseys for a 3-year trial period.
According to the official release from the league, "The sponsorship patch will appear on the front left of the game jerseys opposite the Nike logo. Patches will measure approximately 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches and be adjusted to fit the dimensions of each sponsor's logo."
Which begs the question: which sponsorship would look best on the Philadelphia 76ers jerseys?
There are the obvious brands with Philly connections such as Tasykake, Wawa, Xfinity, Gary Barbara's used auto sales, etc. Or maybe a Camden tie-in with Campbell's soup?
Or a sponsor could get really creative and do a joint partnership between Ginger Ale and the maraschino cherry industry.
