The 76ers blew what at least felt like a comfortable lead over the Phoenix Suns last night, as Philly led by 13 at the break, but could not deal with hot Phoenix starts to both the third and fourth quarters, as Eric Bledsoe and Devon Booker ate their defense alive on the way to a 123-116 victory. There was plenty of blame to go around for this one, but most seemed to centralize their fury at starting center Jahlil Okafor, whose stat line was unremarkable (6 points and 4 boards on 3-4 shooting) but whose general inactivity, particularly defending the pick-and-roll, drew the ire of many:

Thanks for the early Christmas coal, @Sixers. I want a Jahlil Okafor trade under the tree on Sunday.— Greg (@GregDietz) December 24, 2016
Sixers were up 85-84 when Jahlil Okafor entered the game. By the time he checked back out, they were down 100-94.— Jake Pavorsky (@JakePavorsky) December 24, 2016

Nothing Jahlil Okafor does is conducive to winning basketball.— shamus (@shamus_clancy) December 24, 2016
Don't care how high he was drafted: jahlil okafor can't play. Dumping him balances the roster. Addition by subtraction. Get it done #sixers— Bill Hayes (@BillJHayes) December 24, 2016
Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel, Richaun Holmes and Dario Saric have all learned NBA pick-and-roll defense. It's not coaching. It's Jahlil Okafor.— Jake Fischer (@JakeLFischer) December 24, 2016
Eric Bledsoe just had his way against Jahlil Okafor there. A point guard shouldn't win the physicality contest against a center.— Jake Hyman (@RealJakeHyman) December 24, 2016
At least the Sixers wasted 15 minutes trying to 'figure out' if Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor can work...again.— Somers Price (@somersprice) December 24, 2016
Jahlil Okafor is the worst player in the nba. #Sixers #TTP @Sixers seriously get rid of him for nothing. Dudes 🚮— Jah Feels (@JoeMcD3rmott) December 24, 2016
Happy holidays, all -- even Jahlil, who has had better moments this season -- and may the new year bring with it a more logical minutes rotation for the Philadelphia 76ers.
