Source denies Sixers' reported offer to Real Madrid guard Rudy Fernandez

A day after the Sixers agreed to a two-year deal with Spanish guard Sergio Rodriguez, there was buzz around the possibility of another player from Real Madrid coming to Philadelphia.

El Mundo reported the Sixers offered guard Rudy Fernandez a two-year contract worth $20 million. However, a league source denied the report.

Fernandez previously played four seasons in the NBA.

The Sixers did agree to sign a different guard on Tuesday morning. Gerald Henderson will join the team on a two-year, $18 million deal.

With a log-jammed frontcourt, the Sixers have agreed to contracts with three guards in free agency: Rodriguez, Henderson and point guard Jerryd Bayless.
