Sixers Will Hold Blue-White Scrimmage at the Palestra on Sept. 25

If you're anxious to see all the tools the Sixers' young core has added to its arsenal this offseson, Sept. 25 is your first chance.

That's when the Sixers will hold their Blue-White Scrimmage from 7-9 p.m. at the Palestra. Tickets will be free to the public starting Sept. 18 through the team's social media platforms.

The team will play its first preseason game three days later at the Wells Fargo Center against Melbourne United.

"We are excited to bring the Blue x White Scrimmage back to the Palestra for the second straight year," head coach Brett Brown said in a statement. "This historic gym, which is so rich in basketball tradition, provides the perfect atmosphere to introduce this year's team to our awesome fans. Last year's scrimmage was electric, and we look forward to sharing our excitement for the upcoming season on September 25."

Along with Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz, fans should get their first look at new additions Wilson Chandler and Mike Muscala. Rookie Zhaire Smith is sidelined with a Jones fracture in his left foot, while No. 26 pick Landry Shamet's status is uncertain after he suffered a sprained right ankle in summer league play.

After taking on the Orlando Magic in their second preseason game on Oct. 1, the Sixers will travel to China, where the team will play the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 5 and Oct. 8.

The Sixers will kick off the regular season on Oct. 16 with a nationally televised game in Boston (see schedule).
