Sixers sign former St. Joe's standout Isaiah Miles to Exhibit 10 deal

The Sixers have signed the maximum 15 players to NBA contracts, but there are still moves to be made.

The team on Thursday signed former Saint Joseph's standout Isaiah Miles to a deal.

The contract has an Exhibit 10 attachment. In that instance, the team has the right to convert the contract to a two-way deal. The Sixers already have their two-way spots filled with Marial Shayok and Norvel Pelle. If a two-way deal is not offered off the Exhibit 10, the player can be waived and then sign with the team's G-League affiliate for up to $50,000, more than a general G-League contract.

This makes Miles and big man Christ Koumadje - signed to an Exhibit 10 deal on July 19 - likely candidates for the Delaware Blue Coats. The Sixers now have 19 players coming to camp. The maximum is 20, so another player could be brought in.

Miles, who participated with the Sixers in summer league play in 2017-18 and 2018-19, has spent the last three seasons playing overseas. Most recently he played with Limoges CSP, a French team competing in Pro A, the top professional league in the country. He averaged 9.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game in 50 games.

The most appealing thing about Miles is his shot at 6-foot-7, giving him some versatility as a combo forward. The Baltimore native hit 41.4 percent of his threes last season. He wasn't necessarily known as a knockdown shooter when he arrived on Hawk Hill, but hit 38.5 percent of his attempts during his senior season.

He starred alongside Hawks first-round pick DeAndre' Bembry in 2015-16. That St. Joe's team won the A-10 Tournament and its first-round NCAA Tournament matchup over Cincinnati before losing in heartbreaking fashion to one seed Oregon in the second round.
