Sixers Sign Athletic Center Norvel Pelle

The Sixers still aren't done making moves.

On Friday, the team signed Norvel Pelle, an athletic, 6-foot-11 center. Pelle played for the Sixers in summer league, averaging 7.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in 13.8 minutes per contest.

Pelle's athleticism and shot-blocking are his two big calling cards. He was a highly-touted recruit coming out of high school and committed to play at St. John's but never ended up playing college basketball because of academic issues.

The 25-year-old played for the Sixers' G League affiliate in Delaware from 2013-2015 and has since spent time overseas in Italy, Lebanon and Taiwan. A native of Antigua and Barbuda, Pelle plays for the Lebanese national team.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. With the Sixers currently at the maximum of 15 players on the roster and two G League contracts (Shake Milton and Demetrius Jackson), Pelle's deal may be non-guaranteed.
