Anytime you have a personal-best shooting night - and it comes in a rare win - that justifies being mentioned as a season highlight.
Carl Landry scored 22 points on 9 for 10 shooting, including 2 of 2 from three-point range in the Sixers' 107-93 win over the shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans on April 5. Landry added nine rebounds, two assists and one steal in the victory that helped the Sixers surpass the 1972-73 club for fewest wins in a season.
Just how good was Landry on that night? The veteran elicited "M-V-P" chants from the Wells Fargo Center crowd during a late-game trip to the free throw line.

Landry in 2015-16
Viewed primarily as a throw-in in the Sixers' trade with the Sacramento Kings to land Nik Stauskas, Landry gave the Sixers more than they could have expected this past season.
After missing the first 30 games while rehabbing from right wrist surgery, Landry came back and filled whatever role he was asked of by head coach Brett Brown. Whether that was simply to sit at the end of the bench and impart veteran wisdom on the youngsters, play spot minutes behind the team's lottery-drafted big men or even start for an undermanned squad down the stretch, Landry stepped in just fine.
When he was on the floor, the 32-year-old averaged 9.8 points on 55.6 percent shooting. Landry even stretched his range to the three-point line just a little bit thanks to assistant Mike D'Antoni and made a career-high six triples on 13 attempts. Landry also grabbed 4.1 rebounds in 15.8 minutes a night to give him his best numbers since three seasons ago when he was playing for the Golden State Warriors.
Prospectus
While Landry proved to be a solid veteran to have on the roster, his time in Philadelphia could be limited to a one-and-done season.
With the Sixers' saying they are officially turning the page to the the next step in the rebuild with an eye toward free agency and with Landry holding a $6.75 million price tag for next season, the vet could find himself as part of some sort of trade during the offseason.
If they do decide to keep Landry around, it's a call that could only benefit the young group on and off the floor.
