Report: P.J. Carlesimo Could Replace Mike D'Antoni on Sixers' Staff

Sixers assistant coach Mike D'Antoni has drawn some head coaching interest, and if he does indeed leave the organization, P.J. Carlesimo could take his place, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Carlesimo, 66, was a head coach with the Blazers from 1994 to 1997, with the Warriors from 1997 to 1999 and the Sonics/Thunder from 2007 to 2008. He was also the Nets' interim head coach in 2012-13.

Brown and Carlesimo have a relationship from their days working as assistant coaches under Gregg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs. Carlesimo was a Spurs assistant from 2002 to 2007, intersecting with Brown during Brown's first six years in San Antonio.

D'Antoni is reportedly a front-runner for the Rockets' head coaching vacancy.
