NBC gives script commitment to comedy inspired by Ben Simmons' life

Ben Simmons, his half-brother Sean, LeBron James and one of the hosts of the most popular Sixers podcast are teaming up for an NBC comedy.

    Wait, what?

According to Deadline Hollywood, NBC has given a script commitment to "Brotherly Love," a single-camera comedy inspired by Simmons' life. The show "centers on a unique sibling relationship within a multi-ethnic family." Simmons has one sister Liv and four half-siblings, including his brother Sean, who will serve with Ben as a consulting producer.

In the show, the family pursues their dreams "while navigating life in the spotlight in Philadelphia, a passionate city where sports is in your blood, and your blood is always boiling," which sounds like a terrifying thing to depict in a comedy but also, if we're all being honest with ourselves, kind of true.

Michael Levin, a co-host on the Rights to Ricky Sanchez podcast and former writer for Liberty Ballers, is a co-writer and co-executive producer for the show.

He credited a certain beloved former Sixers GM.

Oh, how does LeBron fit in?

He's one of the executive producers through his production company, SpringHill Entertainment. James and Simmons already have a close relationship, so it's no surprise he'd want to be involved with this new venture.

For Levin, this incredible turn of events is ultimate proof that it pays off to Trust the Process.
