Markelle Fultz Reacts to Amari Cooper's TD Celebration Mimicking His Awful Free Throw Attempt

Amari Cooper, a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, did a touchdown celebration ostensibly mimicking the bizarre free throw form of struggling Sixers guard Markelle Fultz in a win over the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving.

That was a weird sentence to write.

But it gets weirder.

Fultz happened to be watching the Thanksgiving game in which the Cowboys defeated the Redskins, seemingly helping the Eagles, and shared his reaction to the celebration with the message "good shot boy."

You can watch both the celebration and Fultz's reaction below. If you haven't seen Fultz's strange free throw attempt from earlier in the month in which he batted the ball between hands prior to shooting, you can watch that above.

Butler sprained MCL in Sixers-Heat play-in game, will miss several weeks

So that's a thing that happened while millions of Americans attempted to wake up from their food comas.

This is just a small blip in the strange and odd developments of Markelle Fultz and his struggles. Fultz had been, by most accounts, healthy and playing for the Sixers up until earlier this week when his attorney, Raymond Brothers, declared Fultz unable to play with the team.

Fultz is set to see specialists in New York early next week to look at his wrist and shoulder. Sixers fans are desperately looking for the facts in the strange case where nobody seems to have any of the answers.

All we know for now is that Fultz was enjoying some football on Thanksgiving like the rest of us. And he seems to have a sense of humor about things.

UPDATE: Cooper spoke about the Fultz celebration following the game. From DallasNews.com

"I don't know him," said Cooper, who made the shot. "I just thought it would be a cool thing to do. I don't really watch the NBA like that until playoff time. But I've seen a couple highlights of him doing it."

"I really just thought about it on the fly during this game," Cooper said. "I was like, 'If I score, I'll maybe do that.' I couldn't really think of anything else on the fly. ... I just made sure I shot the ball far enough to make the free throw."
