Joel Embiid to Attend Soccer Exhibition in Wales, But Won't Play

Don't worry, Joel Embiid is not playing in a soccer match before he plays in another basketball game.

Embiid is listed on a roster for the Ultimate Champions Match, an exhibition game in Wales played during the UEFA Champions Festival. The Sixers center, who underwent season-ending knee surgery in March, is attending the match but not playing in it, according to the Sixers.

Embiid is not the only NBA player expected to be there. Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, who owns North American Soccer League club Puerto Rico F.C., Rockets center Clint Capela and Nuggets forward Juan Hernangomez are also included on the rosters.

The friendly match will be played on a floating pitch on Cardiff Bay this Friday, the day before the Uefa Champions League final game between Real Madrid and Juventus.

Embiid posted photos from his trip on Instagram.
