SAN ANTONIO -- Kawhi Leonard had 26 points and the San Antonio Spurs had to rally to beat the short-handed Oklahoma City Thunder 102-98 in overtime Tuesday night to finish 40-1 at home this season, matching an NBA record. The Boston Celtics had the same record in 1985-86. San Antonio was lethargic coming off its first home loss of the season to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. The Spurs never led in the final quarter the loss and trailed throughout much of their home finale. Thunder coach Billy Donovan rested stars Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka in their regular-season finale while San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich started his regular lineup. Heat close in on division title with winAUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Dwyane Wade got off to his slowest start offensively in a decade and finished with 14 points, helping the Miami Heat beat the Detroit Pistons 99-93 on Tuesday night. Miami will win the Southeast Division and earn home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs if it closes the regular season Wednesday night by beating Boston on the road. The Pistons' loss sealed their spot as the eighth-seeded team in the Eastern Conference, setting up a matchup with top-seeded Cleveland. Wade didn't score until there was 4:14 left in the first half. He had not been scoreless that long at the start of a game since March 17, 2006, against Charlotte, according to STATS. Wade broke his scoreless start with a three-point play and had seven points in a 50-second stretch (see full recap). Pacers win, locked in as No. 7 seedINDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Pacers are looking forward to being back in the playoffs. Paul George and George Hill each scored 19 points and the Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 102-90 on Tuesday night, clinching the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Last season, Indiana missed the playoffs for the first time in four years, just one year removed from being the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. On Tuesday, the Pacers' 12-point win capped a 48-hour span in which Indiana knew its postseason fate. Indiana (44-37) clinched a playoff spot Sunday night. And with Detroit's loss to the Heat and the Pacers' win on Tuesday night, Indiana wrapped up the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference and will face Toronto in the first round of the playoffs (see full recap).
