Tonight's Lineup: Rare Start Vs. Righty for Tyler Goeddel

Tyler Goeddel gets the rare start in left field against a right-handed pitcher tonight when the Phillies open a three-game series in Atlanta.

Goeddel, who doubled and drove in two runs in the Phillies' 6-5 win over the Marlins on Sunday, bats seventh against Braves righty Matt Wisler. The right-handed hitting Goeddel is just 6 for 38 (.158) so far with no walks and 11 strikeouts.

The Phils will continue to give the Rule 5 pick chances to show he belongs in the bigs. This is Goeddel's 12th start, but just his fourth against a right-handed starter.

Carlos Ruiz is behind the plate to catch left-hander Adam Morgan. Chooch's numbers are still solid this season despite an 0-for-8 in his last two starts. He's hitting .286/.352/.531 with three doubles, three homers, six RBIs and five walks in 54 plate appearances (see game notes). This will be Morgan's 18th career start and Ruiz's sixth time catching him.
