Tonight's Lineup: Michael Saunders, Cameron Rupp Sit in Series Opener

Michael Saunders is back on the bench as the Phillies open a three-game series in St. Louis against the ice-cold Cardinals (see game notes).

Howie Kendrick bats third and plays left field; Aaron Altherr bats fifth and plays right field.

The usual suspects make out the rest of the lineup, with Andrew Knapp catching Jeremy Hellickson.

Knapp is hitting .246/.342/.449 in his rookie season with five doubles, three home runs and eight RBIs in 79 plate appearances.

He's also thrown out six of 14 would-be base stealers.

The Phillies want to continue to get a look at Knapp and we could see more of an even split with Cameron Rupp as the season progresses. Rupp is 3 for 31 with 14 strikeouts over his last 10 games.
