Tonight's Lineup: Aaron Altherr Gets Start in RF Vs. a Lefty, Saunders Sits

Aaron Altherr is batting sixth and playing right field for the Phillies on Wednesday night, while Michael Saunders sits.

The Phillies are going with the right-handed hitter against lefty Brandon Finnegan.

Saunders has actually been better vs. lefties than vs. righties the last three seasons (see game notes), but Pete Mackanin's decision to start Altherr tonight makes sense. After Wednesday's game, the next 12 starting pitchers the Phillies are scheduled to face are all right-handers.

The other seven position players in Wednesday's lineup remain the same:

1. Cesar Hernandez, 2B
2. Howie Kendrick, LF
3. Odubel Herrera, CF
4. Maikel Franco, 3B
5. Tommy Joseph, 1B
6. Aaron Altherr, RF
7. Cameron Rupp, C
8. Freddy Galvis, SS
9. Jerad Eickhoff, P
