Today's Lineup: Rupp Returns; 1st Day Off for Herrera

Cameron Rupp returns to the Phillies' lineup Wednesday afternoon after missing three straight games with a sore left ankle. The injury occurred during Rupp's game-ending collision at home plate with Reds baserunner Eugenio Suarez in Saturday's win.

The lineup looks much different for Wednesday's series finale. Odubel Herrera has the day off for the first time all season. He had started all 40 games for the Phillies and played the full game 39 times.

Peter Bourjos gets his first start in center field as a Phillie. He played there extensively with the Angels before Mike Trout arrived in the bigs.

Pete Mackanin is going with Ryan Howard at first base, as he said he would against Marlins right-hander Tom Koehler. Tommy Joseph stood out on Tuesday with three hits and a homer. It was evident that he was locking in and slowing things down at the plate, a rare quality for a rookie in his first week in the majors.

Andres Blanco gets the start at shortstop and bats third. Maikel Franco moves down to fifth in the order. It's Blanco's eighth start of the season. In the previous seven, he went 8 for 25 (.320) with two doubles, a homer, two RBIs and three walks.

David Lough leads off.
