Roman Quinn, Sore and Limping, to Have X-ray on Swollen Right Foot

NEW YORK – Roman Quinn had that Not again! look on his face.

The exciting Phillies outfielder did not play in Friday night's win over the Mets because his right foot was sore after being hit by a pitch in the fifth inning of Wednesday night's game in Miami.

After Friday night's game, Quinn expressed concern about the condition of his foot and said that he would have an X-ray. The foot was noticeably swollen and Quinn walked with a slight limp.

Losing Quinn would be a blow. He is hitting .338 with 10 extra-base hits and a .369 on-base percentage in 80 at-bats since coming up in late July.

Quinn, 25, is a tremendous athlete with tools galore, but he has been hampered by a series of injuries throughout his career. He has missed time over the years with a torn Achilles tendon, a torn left quadriceps, a concussion, a strained elbow ligament and, most recently, with a torn ligament in his right middle finger, which required surgery in May.

The Phillies are crossing their fingers that this latest issue is nothing serious.
