Rhys Hoskins Activated From DL; Dylan Cozens to DL

Rhys Hoskins is back from the DL and batting second for the Phillies today in their game against the Brewers (1:05 p.m./NBCSP).

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Phils placed Dylan Cozens on the 10-day DL with a left quad strain.

Hoskins missed the minimum time, spending just 10 days on the DL with a fractured jaw suffered in Los Angeles. While he was out, the Phillies went 2-7.

Even though Hoskins had a rough month of May, the Phils will take all the offense they can get right now. His .363 on-base percentage will help, and it seems inevitable that a Hoskins hot streak is coming after four cold weeks.

This is a good game to break him back in, too, against a mediocre left-hander in Milwaukee's Brent Suter. Hoskins has reached base in 25 of 55 plate appearances this season vs. lefties (.455 OBP).

Cozens left last night's game early. It's an unfortunate setback for him, though he was a candidate to be optioned to Triple A to make room for Hoskins anyway.
