PITTSBURGH -- Jeff Locke followed consecutive horrible starts with 6 2/3 scoreless innings, Erik Kratz hit his first home run since 2014 and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat San Francisco 1-0 on Monday night, ending the Giants' eight-game winning streak.
Locke (6-5) allowed five hits, no walks and struck out three, helping the Pirates to just their second win in 12 games. He had allowed 18 runs and 20 hits over 8 2/3 innings during his previous two outings.
Kratz's solo shot with two outs in fifth was his first since a two-homer game for the Kansas City Royals on Aug. 18, 2014 against the Minnesota Twins.
Madison Bumgarner (8-3) was the tough-luck loser, allowing one run in eight innings while having his seven-game winning streak snapped (see full recap).
Abreu double lifts White Sox to victory
BOSTON -- Jose Abreu doubled home two runs off Boston closer Craig Kimbrel with two outs in the top of the 10th inning after Chicago escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the ninth, lifting the White Sox to a 3-1 win over the Red Sox on Monday night.
Chicago snapped a three-game losing streak and won for just the eighth time in 26 games. Boston has lost five of eight.
Zach Duke (2-0) wriggled out of the ninth to get the win. David Robertson worked the 10th for his 17th save.

Red Sox knuckleballer Steven Wright pitched nine innings, giving up only an unearned run and five hits. He struck out six and walked three while lowering his AL-best ERA to 2.01.

Reynolds' 2 homers spark Rockies' win
MIAMI -- Mark Reynolds hit two home runs to help power the Colorado Rockies to a 5-3 victory over the Miami Marlins in a record-setting home run contest Monday night.
Trevor Story, Nick Hundley, and Charlie Blackmon also homered for the Rockies, who salvaged the final game of a four-game series with Miami.
Marcell Ozuna hit two home runs and Giancarlo Stanton had one for the Marlins.
The eight solo home runs accounted for all of the runs scored in the game, setting the Major League record. The previous mark was five.
The eight home runs were also the most ever in a game at Marlins Park since it opened in 2012. Five of the game's first 13 batters hit home runs (see full recap).
