Instant Replay: Phillies 7, Braves 4 (10 Innings)

BOX SCORE

ATLANTA - Vince Velasquez let a four-run lead get away in the seventh inning, but his batterymate, Cameron Rupp, picked him up with a three-run double with two outs in the top of the 10th inning as the Phillies pulled out a 7-4 win over the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field on Thursday night.

The Braves rallied for four runs in the seventh to erase the Phillies' 4-0 lead. Jeff Francoeur tied the game with a pinch-hit single for the Braves after teammate Gordon Beckham stroked a three-run double against Velasquez.

The Phillies finished their 10-game road trip 5-5.

They are 20-15 overall and 12-10 on the road. Last season, they were 26-55 on the road.

Starting pitching report
Velasquez pitched shutout ball through six innings and was in complete control before the Braves came alive and tied the game with four runs in the seventh.

Velasquez gave up two singles and a walk to open the frame. Beckham then drove in three runs with a bases-clearing double on a first-pitch breaking ball. Velasquez left the game at 88 pitches after that hit and the Braves quickly tied the game on a pinch hit by Francoeur.

Velasquez entered the game with a 2.17 ERA in six starts, good for seventh in the league. It rose to 2.70.

Atlanta rookie Aaron Blair allowed six hits and four runs over 3 2/3 innings. He left trailing, 4-0.

Bullpen report
Francoeur's game-tying hit came against David Hernandez.

Andrew Bailey stranded a runner in scoring position in the bottom of the ninth. He got the win. Jeanmar Gomez earned his 13th save.

Jason Grilli took the loss.

At the plate
Rupp had just four RBIs before his three-run double in the 10th.

The Phillies scored three times in the fourth inning to give Velasquez a 4-0 lead. Freddy Galvis, batting fifth for just the second time in his career, keyed the rally with a two-run home run.

Odubel Herrera had four hits and reached base five times. His leadoff triple in the 10th was huge. He scored the tie-breaking run in the 10th.

Beckham doubled his season RBI total with one swing in the seventh inning.

Francoeur's game-tying, pinch-hit single in the seventh was a first-pitch line drive by a diving Howard at first base. Francoeur had been 0 for 7 as a pinch hitter with the Braves this season. He had a big year as a pinch hitter with the Phillies last year. He hit .367 (11 for 30) with 11 RBIs.

In the field
Galvis made just his second error of the season when he dropped a ball while trying to make an over-the-shoulder catch in shallow left field in the fifth.
