The Wells Fargo Center is getting a giant new transforming 4K scoreboard.

The 76ers and Flyers have put a highly entertaining product on the floor/ice as of late and soon they'll have a bright new scoreboard to match.

Comcast Spectacor partnered with ANC and are calling the new scoreboard "the first-ever Kinetic 4K center-hung entertainment system" which will contain 65 percent more LED real estate than the scoreboard currently hanging in the center. Imagine how many more fans will get on the dance cam each game.

This isn't your grandpa's old scoreboard from the Spectrum. The new screens will have the "unprecedented ability to transform and be configured in a variety of formats to best highlight the action below. Complementing the center-hung display are two massive crown trusses designed to  create a captivating experience with multi-directional movement. Never before has an arena scoreboard had the ability to extend and compress 4mm LED technology in such an adaptive manner."

"Comcast Spectacor is proud to highlight the next phase of the Wells Fargo Center's ‘Transformation 2020' initiative with the first Kinetic 4K center-hung ever to be installed in a professional sports venue," said Valerie Camillo, President of Business Operations, Philadelphia Flyers and Wells Fargo Center. "Together with technology partners like ANC and Comcast, the Wells Fargo Center continues to innovate and further our commitment to be the most technologically advanced arena in the world."

If you've been to a Flyers or Sixers game at the WFC recently you've noticed some of the many changes in the upper concourse as well as much of the seating. This scoreboard is just the latest part of the $250 million in upgrades being made to the Center as part of the Transformation 2020 initiative.

The impressive new scoreboard is scheduled to be ready for both the home openers of the Flyers and Sixers seasons in 2019-2020.
