After being stretchered off the ice and hospitalized for precautionary reasons Wednesday night, Scott Laughton was discharged Thursday and is "doing well," the Flyers announced.
However, Laughton will not travel with the team to Washington, D.C., for Game 5 Friday night in the best-of-seven first-round Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Capitals, in which the Flyers trail 3-1.
The Flyers will have another update on Laughton's status within the next couple of days.

The 21-year-old forward, playing in his third career postseason game, left Wednesday's action with 3:49 left in the first period following a hit from John Carlson and an awkward, sideways crash into the back boards.
Laughton, showing slight movement, was laying face-first on the ice before having his head immobilized on a stretcher as he was taken to Jefferson Hospital.

With Laughton out for Game 5, winger Pierre-Edouard Bellemare is expected to join the lineup after missing Game 4, serving a one-game suspension by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for a hit from behind in Game 3.
