Flyers Vs. Rangers: Live Stream, Storylines, Game Time and More

There's some Black Friday pressure for the Flyers (9-10-2) as they welcome the Rangers (12-8-2).

Let's look at the essentials:

• Friday's matinee brings a ton of importance for the Flyers, who are in the midst of a season-worst four-game losing streak following an effort Wednesday that Claude Giroux deemed "not acceptable."

Here's what the Flyers' captain told reporters after the 5-2 loss to the Sabres:

We need to wake up here. … I'm pretty pissed off. We've got two big games coming up here.

The two big games come in a back-to-back situation vs. the Rangers and at the Maple Leafs. Both teams are a combined 16-3-1 in their last 20 games.

Flyers fans get up for Black Friday contests. They'll be extra antsy today. The Flyers can really send a message with a fast start as once again the threat of change seems to be creeping into the picture (see story).

• Change is a popular topic of conversation right now because at Thanksgiving the Flyers are in the same position as last season. You can even say they've regressed.

2017-18 at Thanksgiving: 8-9-5, 21 points, last place in Metropolitan Division, minus-2 goal differential

2018-19 at Thanksgiving: 9-10-2, 20 points, last place in Metropolitan Division, minus-11 goal differential

Understandably, Flyers fans have grown impatient with slow starts to each season.

• During the four-game skid, the Flyers have outshot the opposition, 130-104, but have been outscored, 16-8. Obviously, it boils down to the quality of shots, better coverage in front and more timely saves from the goaltender.

• Friday kicks off a four-game regular-season series with the rebuilding Rangers, who are exceeding expectations thus far. They've been the NHL's best team in November with 17 points and an 8-1-1 record.

Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist is 35-16-4 with a 2.50 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in 57 career games against the Flyers.
