Flyers at Sharks: Live Stream, Storylines, Game Time and More

After the Flyers were thumped in their home opener by the Sharks, 8-2, one would think some revenge is on the mind for Dave Hakstol's group ahead of Round 2.

Instead, the Flyers (6-7-0) are probably much more concerned with simply continuing a positive four-game road swing when they visit the Sharks (6-4-3) Saturday night.

Let's look at the essentials:

When: 10:30 p.m. ET with Flyers Pregame Live at 10 p.m.

• A victory over the Sharks would already give the Flyers a winning road trip before the fourth and final stop Monday.

That would be quite the statement for a few reasons.

For one, it would give the Flyers a three-game winning streak fresh off a season-worst three-game skid that had outside turmoil bubbling. Secondly, San Jose is a Stanley Cup contender and the toughest matchup on the Flyers' trip.

The last time the Flyers won three straight games was Feb. 16-26, 2018, when the team ripped off six in a row.

• The Flyers have won consecutive games for the first time this season because the players they need to heavily rely on have been rock solid.

Over the two victories, Ivan Provorov looked like his old self - great with the puck on his stick, breaking up plays, scoring (two goals) and blocking shots (nine).

Sean Couturier is playing his all-around game against the opponents' best and chipping in on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist.

And Nolan Patrick has back-to-back multi-point games.

Those three look like they're getting comfortable and that's huge for the Flyers.

• Through all three zones, the Flyers have played a much cleaner game. They've been opportunistic but not overly greedy.

They'll be put to the test, though, against the Sharks, who challenge you and exploit your mistakes with talented defensemen Brent Burns (15 points) and Erik Karlsson (seven points).

The Flyers were a mess in the home opener and the Sharks capitalized by burying them with eight goals on 48 shots.

Unlike the Flyers, San Jose is on a four-game homestand in which it has lost the first two contests. Overall, the Sharks are 2-3-3 against the Metropolitan Division thus far.

• Brian Elliott is 2-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .923 save percentage on the road trip. He saw the Sharks a lot in the home opener.
