Brayden Schenn Suspended 3 Games for Charging Caps' Oshie

Flyers forward Brayden Schenn has been suspended three games for charging Capitals forward T.J. Oshie during Game 6 of the teams' best-of-seven series.

Schenn was a physical presence during the series and knew that the Department of Player Safety had their eyes on him.

"Well, I know they were obviously watching me close in that series," Schenn said today before the suspension had been announced. "To be honest, I didn't even know that I hit Oshie in the head. It wasn't the initial point of contact. I did hit him in the shoulder first and then hit his head after."

The play itself was not called a penalty on the ice. The Flyers' lost the series to Washington after a 1-0 defeat in Game 6.

The 24-year-old enjoyed his best NHL season, tallying a career-high 26 goals and 59 points. Schenn will be a restricted free agent this offseason.

Schenn will have to serve the suspension during the first three games of next season.
