It's worth noting some of Vigneault's best teams endured slow starts, including the 2013-14 Rangers, who went to the Stanley Cup Final.

• Once again, the Flyers will look different down the middle. Mikhail Vorobyev is back and centering the fourth line after a three-game stint for German Rubtsov.
Claude Giroux is staying at center (for now) because the Flyers need help at the position and are still looking for the right combinations.
"In the middle right now, with both Scotty Laughton and Nolan Patrick being out, that would test anybody's middle line," Vigneault said. "Two guys that can play the middle that aren't there. That's our situation right now."
• Ivan Provorov and Matt Niskanen have combined for 10 points and a plus-13 mark over the Flyers' last eight games.
• The Canadiens have won four of their last five games, with victories over the Bruins, Golden Knights, Coyotes and Maple Leafs. Montreal is fourth in goals per game (3.67) but 30th in penalty kill percentage (68.9).
