Flyers at Devils: Live Stream, Storylines, Game Time and More

It's the debut of Cam Talbot tonight in New Jersey, as the Flyers (30-26-8, 68 points) face the New Jersey Devils (25-31-8, 58 pts.) in the fourth and final meeting between the teams this season.

Talbot will be the fourth different goaltender to make his Flyers debut this season, joining Cal Pickard, Carter Hart and Mike McKenna.

Hart and Pickard both won their first starts, while McKenna came up on the short end of a 5-3 loss to Washington on Jan. 8.

Let's take a look at tonight's essentials:

• When: 7:00 p.m. ET with Flyers Pregame Live at 6:30 p.m.
• Where: Prudential Center
• Broadcast: NBCSP

Talbot also becomes the eighth different goaltender to play and start in a game for the Flyers this season, establishing a new NHL record.

‘I think we've taken a huge step' — Flyers lose wild one in OT as race tightens

Flyers fall to their former goalie prospect as Panthers get payback

I don't know if it's something that you really want to be part of as a goalie or not. Here we are, and apparently this is going to set some kind of record. I've missed maybe nine games in my NHL career. I haven't missed a whole lot. I try to do a little bit everyday, whether it's maintenance work or lifts. I focus on making sure I'm warmed up and activated and all off that stuff before I get on the ice.

• Flyers interim head coach Scott Gordon was the sixth goaltender used for the 1989-90 Quebec Nordiques, the last team prior to the 2018-19 Flyers to employ seven different goaltenders in a single season.

• The Flyers just completed their most successful month of the season with an 8-3-2 record in February. The Flyers have improved their point total every month this season: 10-12-13-15-18.

Thursday night's 4-3 overtime loss in Columbus was the first of seven straight games against Metropolitan divisional opponents for the Flyers. Not taking care of business within the Metro is a big a reason why the Flyers are six points back of a playoff spot. The Flyers are 6-9-2 against divisional opponents - the worst mark of the eight divisional teams.

• With two more goals Thursday night in Columbus, Travis Sanheim now leads all Flyers defensemen with eight goals and has racked up 12 points over his last 14 games.

• Forward Jake Voracek brings a three-game goal streak into New Jersey, with six points during that stretch. The Flyers winger is two goals shy of his sixth 20-goal season - all with the Flyers.

• The Flyers are facing a top-five penalty kill for the third consecutive game. They were 0-2 against the fifth-ranked Sabres and 1-2 against the fourth-ranked Blue Jackets. The Devils come into this game ranked third in the NHL, but have allowed a power-play goal in four of their last seven games.

• The Devils have the most lopsided home/road record split of any team in the NHL. New Jersey owns a 17-11-5 mark at the Prudential Center (39 pts.), compared to a 8-20-3 record (19 pts.) away from Newark.

New Jersey will also wear their special Heritage sweaters for the final time this season. Trimmed in green, the uniform was worn by the Devils from 1982-1992 after the team moved from Denver, Colorado. The Devils are 0-3-0 wearing the commemorative sweater.
