One day into the NFL draft, Sam Bradford is still an Eagle.
A disgruntled Eagle, but still an Eagle.
The Eagles went ahead with their plan on Thursday night to draft North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz with the No. 2 pick. After the Eagles traded up to the second spot, Bradford requested a trade out of town and stopped showing up to the offseason program.
When asked again on Thursday, Eagles vice president of football operations Howie Roseman said the team would not honor Bradford's request to be traded.
"No, Sam is our quarterback and we've been clear about that from the first time we had this conversation," Roseman said.
If Bradford does return to the Eagles, it could be somewhat of an awkward situation for Wentz, who the team selected to be the franchise quarterback of the future.

"You know, I don't think so," Wentz said on a conference call Thursday night. "I'm not really sure how it'll transpire. I've been an Eagle now for about an hour, so we'll kind of see how that transpires. But it's out of my control. I'm not going to worry about it, and it'll all work out."
When asked how he will handle his first meeting with Bradford, Wentz said "professionally."
"I think we're both professionals now, and it'll just be - it'll be what it is," he continued. "I won't make it bigger than it needs to be. I'm just going to go in there and focus on what I can control and learning as much ball as quickly as I can."
While the rookies will have a minicamp from May 13-15, the whole team won't be together for practice until OTAs start on May 17. Those are still voluntary. The first mandatory days (when Bradford can be fined) don't come until June 7-9.
One possible landing spot for Bradford seemed to disappear Thursday night, when the Broncos traded up to draft Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch.
"I think first of all, this is about Carson today," Roseman said. "We just picked the kid second overall, and that's where our focus is: the fact that we got Carson Wentz."
