Top Prospect Garrett Pleads to Be Taken by Cowboys, Says He'll Skip Draft in Philly

Former Texas A&M star Myles Garrett is viewed as the top prospect in the 2017 NFL draft and the likely the No. 1 overall pick of the Cleveland Browns.

However, Garrett has another team on his radar. The defensive end made a home video plea to  Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys to trade up and draft him.

"I'm speaking to you, Jerry. Mr. (Jason) Garrett (Cowboys head coach), make it happen," Garrett said. "I need you to take Tony Romo, take a couple of picks and give them to Cleveland (who holds the No. 1 pick in the draft) so you can pick me up. Please, I'd love to play in Dallas. Just make it happen."

It makes sense why Garrett wants to stay in his home state and play for the Cowboys. They're coming off a 13-3 season and if not for a few ridiculous throws from Aaron Rodgers, the Cowboys are in the NFC Championship game. Not to mention, they had two rookies in Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott who both had stellar seasons.

Still, Garrett will more than likely get chosen by the Browns, who are coming off an abysmal 1-15 season.

Garrett made more news on Friday by stating to the Houston Chronicle that he won't be attending this year's draft in Philadelphia.

"I'm staying at home," he told the newspaper.
