Titans Wide Receiver Rishard Matthews Reaches Deal on Release Before Game Vs. Eagles

With Delanie Walker expected to miss the rest of the season with a broken ankle, the Titans were already going to be without their leading receiver from last year this Sunday against the Eagles.

Now they'll be without their top two pass-catchers from a year ago.

Unhappy with playing time, veteran WR Rishard Matthews asked for a release and reached an agreement with Tennessee to part ways.

"I've been the leading receiver for two years. Then all of a sudden I'm barely playing and not even starting," Matthews told A to Z Sports in Nashville. "Using my injury as the scapegoat. Look at number of snaps and targets."

Through three games, Matthews had just three catches for 11 yards.
