Snap Counts: Byron Marshall Plays Extensively in First NFL Game

Byron Marshall didn't get into the Eagles' 27-26 loss to the Ravens until the second quarter, but he ended up playing more snaps than Ryan Mathews.

Marshall played 39 of 87 offensive snaps (45 percent) on Sunday, while Mathews played 36 snaps and Kenjon Barner played 12 before leaving with a hamstring injury.

Marshall carried the ball nine times for just 22 yards, but did have a couple big runs. Meanwhile, Mathews had a great day, rushing 20 times for 128 yards and a touchdown. Barner had just three carries for six yards before going down.

The Eagles had a season-high 87 offensive snaps on Sunday.

But Sunday was another game of plenty of opportunity and little production from the Eagles' outside receivers. While Jordan Matthews had six catches for 27 yards and Zach Ertz had six for 80, the outside receivers did little.

Nelson Agholor played a season-high 85 snaps on Sunday and finished with one catch for nine yards on four targets. He also had one carry for one yard on that key conversion attempt where he stepped out of bounds. On the season, Agholor has played 82.2 percent of the Eagles' offensive snaps -- even with the game he missed -- and has 34 catches for 318 yards.

Dorial Green-Beckham wasn't any better. He played 53 snaps and had just one catch for 11 yards on three targets. He has now had one catch or fewer in four of his 13 games this season.

Rookie Isaac Seumalo and the rest of the Eagles' offensive line played all 87 snaps.

On defense, Malcolm Jenkins, Jordan Hicks and Rodney McLeod played all 58 snaps and Nigel Bradham played 57.

After playing just 15 snaps against Washington last week, Vinny Curry played 28 (48 percent) on Sunday. Brandon Graham led the defensive ends with 43 snaps, followed by Connor Barwin with 33.

Nolan Carroll led the way for Eagles corners with 48 snaps (83 percent), while Leodis McKelvin and Jalen Mills each played 34.

The Eagles were able to use their base defense quite a bit against the Ravens, which mean Mychal Kendricks played 20 snaps (34 percent). When they went to nickel, Jaylen Watkins played 38 snaps (66 percent). A week after using Mills in the slot, Jenkins was back at that post against a more favorable matchup.
