Several Eagles Might Play Their Final Game With the Team on Sunday

Brandon Graham has been with the Eagles for nine seasons, so naturally, he's collected some things. Those things are piled up in his locker and he's not ready to clean out his home away from home just yet.

He might have to soon though.

Because while the Eagles are hoping to win Sunday and get some help to sneak into the playoffs to keep this season going, there's a good chance Sunday's game in Washington might be his last as an Eagle. He knows it.

"Oh yeah. For sure," Graham said. "Every day, even right now, I'm just like, ‘dang, who knows what's gonna happen.' I don't know, for real. I just know it could potentially be and I understand that. It's going to be emotional, but at the end of the day, hopefully, we can get into this thing a little bit so we can prolong it a little more."

Graham has been aware that this could be the end of his time in Philly for a while, and he's not the only one. There are several notable players who might very well play their final games as Eagles on Sunday if things don't go the right way:

Brandon Graham
We'll start with the aforementioned Graham, who is 30 now and is in the final year of his contract, and then go alphabetically. While his agent and the Eagles had discussions last offseason, a deal was never worked out and now Graham is on a direct path to free agency. This might be his final chance to make some real money in the league. The good news for the Eagles is that his numbers aren't great this season (four sacks), so maybe his price tag won't be too high. It'll be emotional if Graham leaves after playing a total of 130 games (including playoffs) here.

Michael Bennett
Bennett is 33 but is under contract for a couple more seasons. His cap hit of $7 million next year isn't outrageous, but there's a chance the Eagles could move on. The problem is, if Graham isn't back, the Eagles are going to need players at that position. And Bennett has been their most productive defensive end this season, especially after he took over as a starter. They should probably keep him around.

Nick Foles
I think we're all well aware of this situation. The Eagles are invested in Carson Wentz as their future quarterback. So barring something crazy, Foles is probably going to hit free agency because the Eagles aren't going to pick up that $20 million option. I think that's why Foles was so emotional after what was probably his final home game. He knows the situation and there's nothing he can do to change it.

Corey Graham
The Eagles were able to lure Graham away from the grips of retirement, but even then it was a hard choice. He's here on a one-year deal, but he's 33 and the safety has made it clear he's done after this season.

Jordan Hicks
Probably one of the hardest guys to figure out on this list, Hicks is 26 and has been pretty productive on the field, but he's also definitely earned the injury-prone label as he gets ready to hit free agency. His durability is a major concern. It might prevent the Eagles from signing him, but it might also make him a more affordable player than his talent warrants.

Tim Jernigan
He's under contract but reworked his deal this offseason, reportedly voiding the guaranteed money after that mysterious back injury and subsequent surgery. If he's healthy and back to where he was early last season, he's worth keeping around. This might be interesting.

Chris Long
He's under contract for next season but has a $5.6 million cap hit, which is a lot for a team up against it. And Long is going to turn 34 in March and was flirting with retirement last offseason. Part of the reason he returned is to give his philanthropic efforts more pub, but this might be a good time for him to walk away.

Haloti Ngata
In recent weeks, Ngata has actually been playing much better, but he was simply average for most of the season. He's here on a one-year deal, so the Eagles would need to re-sign Ngata, who turns 35 next month. That doesn't seem too likely.

Jason Peters
Peters turns 37 next month and the future Hall of Famer has struggled to stay healthy all season. Not to mention, his cap hit next season is over $10 million. That sounds like a lot, but it really isn't for a starting tackle. Peters has played well when healthy and they don't really have a great replacement. This is a hard one to figure out.

Darren Sproles
This was supposed to be Sproles' last season, but that hamstring injury kept him out for a while this season. Doug Pederson said he'd like to have Sproles back, but it'll be up to the 35-year-old back. Maybe he gives it one more try next year.

Golden Tate
He's notable in name only because Tate has not been nearly productive enough since coming here midseason. It seems like his time in Philly is winding down as he gets ready to hit the open market.
