Roob's 10 Random Stats From Eagles-Falcons, Week 1

Jason Peters is the oldest in how long? Nick Foles hasn't done what since last November? Cameron Johnston is the best since who

It's the inaugural edition of Roob's Random Eagles Stats and we'll answer all those questions and more!

We'll be doing 10 Random Stats off each Eagles' game once again this year, so if you like football and you like numbers, this is the place to be!

1. Peters on Thursday night became the Eagles' oldest opening-day starter in 38 years and fourth-oldest ever. Peters was 36 years and 227 days old when the Eagles beat the Falcons, 18-12, at the Linc, making him the Eagles' oldest starter since guard Woody Peoples started the 1980 opener against Broncos at the Vet at 37 and 22 days. The only older opening-day starters in Eagles history are Chuck Bednarik for the 1962 opener against the Chicago Cardinals at Franklin Field [37, 135] and Vic Lindskog [36, 297] for the 1951 opener against the Chicago Cardinals at Comiskey Park.

2. Foles hasn't completed a 20-yard pass to a wide receiver in his last five regular-season games. His longest completion to a wide receiver since Carson Wentz got hurt - in a regular-season game - was a 19-yarder to Alshon Jeffery in the Giants game last year. His last connection with a receiver for 20 yards or more was a 35-yarder to Nelson Agholor against the Broncos last November on his only pass attempt of the first 10 weeks of last season. He did complete eight passes of at least 20 yards in the postseason.

3. Foles became only the second quarterback in NFL history to catch a pass in consecutive games. Marc Bulger did it for the Rams in 2008, but the Rams lost both games.

4. Chris Long [33 years, 163 days] became the second-oldest player in Eagles history with a multiple-sack game. William Fuller had a 3.0-sack game against the Cards on Dec. 22, 1996 [34 years, 29 days]. He sacked Kent Graham twice and Boomer Esiason once.

5. The win over Atlanta was the first game the Eagles won with fewer than 120 yards both rushing and passing in 15 years - since Oct. 19, 2003, when they beat the Giants with 47 yards passing and 87 rushing. That was the game Brian Westbrook won with an 84-yard punt return with a minute left.

6. The Eagles have allowed 12 or fewer points in six straight home games, the longest streak in franchise history and fifth-longest in NFL history. The last longer streak in the NFL: The Bears had a seven-game home streak allowing 12 or fewer points in 1988. The seventh and final game in that streak was a 20-12 win over the Eagles at Soldier Field in the conference semifinals - the Fog Bowl.

7. Foles threw 34 times for 117 yards. That's the fewest yards in Eagles history by a quarterback throwing 34 or more passes. Previous record: George Mira threw 34 times for 123 yards in a 14-13 loss to the 49ers in 1969. That was the only game Mira ever started for the Eagles.

8. Nelson Agholor became the sixth Eagle but first in 28 years with 15 yards rushing, 15 yards receiving and 15 yards passing in the same game. Keith Byars had 18 passing, 27 rushing and 21 receiving in a 17-3 win over the Cowboys in 1990. Others who have done it are Izzy Lang in 1966, Earl Gros in 1965, Billy Ray Barnes twice in 1958 in consecutive weeks and Clarence Peaks in 1957.

9. Johnston's 52.2 punter average against Atlanta is 11th-highest in NFL history by a player in his first career game and highest ever by an Eagles punter. The previous record by an Eagle was Mike Horan's 50.2 against the Giants in 1984.

10. Tevin Coleman's rushing touchdown was the first against the Eagles at the Linc since 2016, ending the fourth-longest streak in NFL history of home games without allowing a rushing TD at 12. The only longer streaks in NFL history belong to the 1996 and 1997 Steelers (15), the 2010-12 49ers (14) and the 1989-91 Raiders (13).
