Report: Eagles to Sign Kicker Jake Elliott, Place Caleb Sturgis on Injured Reserve

It looks like the Eagles have their new kicker.

Jake Elliott will be signed off of the Bengals' practice squad while kicker Caleb Sturgis will be placed on injured reserve (to return), according to a report Tuesday by the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

After starting four years at Memphis, Elliott, 22, was a fifth-round pick by the Bengals in April. He graduated as the Tigers' all-time leading scorer with 445 points on 202 PATs and 81 field goals. Over his career, he went 81 for 104, giving him a 77.9 percentage, best in school history, which also produced Patriots All-Pro kicker Stephen Gostkowski.

During the Eagles' Week 1 win, Sturgis reportedly suffered a quad strain in his plant leg and is expected to miss "several weeks."

Sturgis, 28, is 56 for 66 in 30 career games with the Eagles. He went 3 for 3 in last Sunday's win but went 1 for 2 on extra points.

In Week 2, the Eagles head to Kansas City to face the Chiefs on Sunday at 1 p.m.
