The Pro Football Hall of Fame called seven people for the class of 2017, but Eagles' legend Brian Dawkins phone remained silent (see story).
Despite being a nine-time Pro Bowler, a six-time All-Pro, and a member of the NFL's 2000s All-Decade Team, Dawkins will not make the Hall of Fame this season.
The Internet, and Dawkins himself, reacted.

Brian Dawkins flew all the way to Houston to find out he didn't make the HOF. "It's disappointing. I'm not going to lie to you,'' he said.— Paul Domowitch (@pdomo) February 5, 2017
I have no doubt that when Brian Dawkins eventually gets into the Hall of Fame, the crowd in Canton is going to be a sea of green.— Dave Zangaro (@DZangaroCSN) February 5, 2017
The always gracious Dawkins Tweeted out a congratulatory message to those who made the Hall this year. He is sure to get his call some day.
